Black Children For Sale: Black Learners Caged And Auctioned Off At Pinelands High In Cape Town

Reneilwe Morema reports on a video that went viral that shows Coloured Learners from Pinelands High School in Cape Town auctioning their fellow black classmates while they were ”caged-in”. The southern suburbs school was thrust into the spotlight earlier this month, when videos surfaced on social media showing coloured pupils selling their black classmates in a mock slave auction. In the captioned video “Slavery at school is crazy”, black learners can be seen placed behind a gate while their colored classmates are heard making bids of various amounts between R50000 and R100000.
