The Democrats shamed Ice Cube when he approached Trump about his Platinum Plan. The Democrats wouldn’t even talk to him.
The electing of a candidate is a transactional process. The candidate makes promises that align with needs of the constituency. The constituency then vote for the candidate that made the promises that aligned with needs of the voters (aka constituency). It’s always been a transactional proposition.
